An Electromagnetic Tribute – Burning Chrome
I recently participated in an open call for induction recordings from LOM, the creator of the Elektrosluch 3. From those submitted, LOM curated an album of their favourite tracks. The rules were simple: the track had to be a raw recording that only contained induction recordings, though those could come from an Elektrosluch 3, induction coils, guitar pick-ups, or something similar. Volume could be adjusted and layering was allowed, but no effects processing could be done to the tracks.

I’ll Wait For You (Acoustic Demo)
I recently started writing music again after a long hiatus. This was the first song I wrote, and after letting it cook for a few months, I decided it was time to record those ideas and start getting some feedback. I found that I went back and forth on this song’s lyrics over the months, almost feeling like they were insincere. They represent how I felt for a time, and how I sometimes feel now.

The Personal Lives of Stack and Heap
Heap had always known Stack to be a very put-together individual. While Heap was laid back and disorganized, Stack was always very structured and serious, rarely taking any time off or deviating from his routine. One day, Heap came across Stack relaxing on the beach, something that struck him as very odd. Heap, surprised, approached Stack and asked what he was doing. Stack replied, “On exception, I need to unwind.”

One Pitch Man
One of my co-workers (working in sales) is moving on to another job today. He’s often been teased for looking like a grown-up version of Caillou, but after watching One Punch Man a few months ago, a few of us decided that was a better likeness for him.
Thus was born One Pitch Man, destroying the competition with a single pitch:

Uprooted – Recitation
I’ve always enjoyed acting in less formal settings, especially voice acting. My main exposure to this has been in tabletop role-playing games like Numenera, Dungeons and Dragons, and Fiasco. I typically end up being the game master, which gives me a lot of freedom to try and create and embody many different characters. Recently, I played through Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs with a friend, and found that I was reading the notes we found out loud, in character, trying to contribute to the ambiance and immersion of this shared experience.

The Deep Below
I bury myself in the sand,
Crawl deeper down into the land;
My heartstrings unfurled,
I hide from the world
In the one way I know that I can.
And deeper and deeper below,
No friends or well wishes in tow,
I find a warm hearth
Far down in the Earth,
And curl up in my new home.
Locked away, now I finally sleep
Left alone with my thoughts and my dreams;

I planted my roots in you, and drank deep.
I was a small sapling, spry and eager to grow, and you were my nurturing soil, ever present and ever providing. As the sun hit our meadow, we would revel in its warmth, hugging closely together;
inseparable.
My roots grew, ever deeper, ever more complex, and they were met by nourishment and embrace as you opened your heart to me.
I planted my roots in you, and drank deep.

Induction Synth – Percussive Interference
I’ve recently been working with Independence to make some synthesizers from some induction recordings. This time, I took a recording of a Chromecast and turned it into a percussion instrument. I chopped up my recording into 16 short samples and went wild on my Korg padKONTROL. This was the result:

Jack and Kyle Jam – Amp Input Blues
My friend Kyle and I recently had a jam session in my apartment, so I thought I’d put together a highlight reel of some of the interesting ideas. I ran into some problems with my amp, which resulted in this beautiful stack amp:
The session was pretty simple, with just a guitar, a bass, and these three pedals:

Induction Synth – Radon Chill Pad
I’ve recently been working with Independence to make some synthesizers from some induction recordings. Most recently, I decided to take a recording of my freezer and turn it into a pad. The original recording had some volume dips, which I decided to leave in, and I’m quite happy with the result.
