Electromagnetic Listening – Connected Devices

I recently got an Elektrosluch 3, which LOM, the creator, calls an electromagnetic listening device. Think of it like a microphone for electricity instead of sound. I’ve done a few recordings with induction coils before, which do more or less the same thing, but the Elektrosluch 3 is powered and, as such, has much higher gain. This has allowed me to listen to many more sounds and subtleties than I previously could.
I decided to start out by using the Elektrosluch 3 on some of my connected devices. Specifically, I made a few recordings of my phone (Nexus 5), my smartwatch (Pebble Classic), my cable modem (Motorola SB5102), and my wireless router (DLink DIR-655). You can hear all of these below.
